What I am going for here is to sketch out a connection between old music and the new players, especially since the old music scene in Memphis so well-known worldwide.

Nan's Words Of Wisdom [Monday February 18, 2008]
Nan says: The Brokenstring Documentary now has a working title of "Meanwhile in Memphis: and then some subtitle like ....the state of original Memphis music after Stax closed, or after Elvis left the building, or after all the famous stuff happened"
I will be editing together sample sequences and posting them here on my website. They may or may not ultimately be in the documentary in this order, but it gives us all a chance to watch them and reflect.
We are trying to draw a genealogy of local music beginning in the 1970's with the influence of Furry Lewis and other black bluesmen on Jim Dickinson's family and colleagues, beginning with his band Mudboy and the Neutrons. Then we follow with sections on:
Tav Falco
Sons of Mudboy
The North Mississippi Allstars
Garage Rock- Jeffrey Evans;
The intro needs to be reworked since we now have most of our interviews conducted. has Jim Dickinson as our first Voice and Rob as the first musician. I will be filming some additional bar footage on Beale in a few weeks.
Many thanks to all the people who are contributing material.
